Maxwell Moldovan Named Unanimous First Team All-Big Team
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Maxwell Moldovan has been named a unanimous first team All-Big Ten honoree as voted on by the conference’s 14 head coaches.
Moldovan set the program’s single-season scoring record each of his first two seasons and is on pace to set it even lower this season. He is averaging 70.53 over 32 rounds and 11 events. He has posted 10 Top 20 finishes and a remarkable six Top 5 finishes this season. He is coming off a fifth-place finish at last weekend’s rain-shortened Big Ten Championship.
The Uniontown, Ohio native has carded 24 of 32 rounds at par or better this season and has 13 rounds in the 60s. That gives him 35 rounds in the 60s for his career, which is a program record.
Moldovan also earned first team honors last season after claiming second team honors as a freshman. He is Ohio State’s first three-time All-Big Ten honoree since Bo Hoag in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
