Davis Lamb Clinches PGA TOUR Card
There were 20 PGA TOUR cards on the line at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Davis Lamb arrived to The Federal Club having slipped out of the top 20. He walked out holding a PGA Tour Card.
Starting the week No. 23 on the season-long Korn Ferry Tour Points List — three spots outside the line — Lamb played his way to a solo eighth-place finish, closed with a 3-under 68 under steady Sunday rain, and climbed to No. 20 when the final numbers settled. He and tournament winner Austin Hitt were the only two players in the field to start the week outside the top 20 and finish inside it.
Davis Lamb is a member of the PGA TOUR for 2027.
A Sunday With No Margin
The math going into the finale was unforgiving. Thirteen players had already locked up their cards. Seven remained, and roughly two dozen players had a real shot at them. In a no-cut, 59-player field, every bogey and every birdie moved a name on the projected standings.
Sunday’s weather conditions only made it harder. A persistent rain settled over the Arnold Palmer–designed layout outside Richmond for the final round, turning a pressure-packed day into a grinding one — wet grips, heavy air, soft conditions that demanded patience as much as precision.

Through 13 holes, Lamb was hanging on the edge. Then he went to work.
He birdied the 14th. He birdied the 16th. And at the 17th, he rolled in the birdie that pushed him to No. 20 on the projected standings — the exact spot where he’d finish once every group was in. Three birdies over his final five holes, on the most consequential back nine of his career, in the worst weather of the week.
That is not luck. That is a player who knew precisely what he needed and went and got it.
The Win That Opened the Door
Lamb’s season was built on a breakthrough in March. At the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, he trailed by eight after the opening round, answered with a career-low, bogey-free 63 on Friday, and closed with a bogey-free 68 on Sunday — capped by a birdie on the 72nd hole — to win by two at 19-under. It was his first Korn Ferry Tour victory, in his 34th career start, and it vaulted him from 38th to third on the points list.

But a single win doesn’t hand anyone a card. The months that followed tested him, and by the time the Finals arrived, Lamb had slipped outside the top 20. The Federal Club was where he had to prove the March win was the beginning of something, not the peak of it.
He did exactly that.
Built the Hard Way
What makes Sunday mean more is the road that led to it.
A Bethesda, Maryland native, Lamb played four seasons at Notre Dame before a graduate year at Florida Atlantic, then turned professional in 2021. He earned Korn Ferry Tour membership for the first time through PGA TOUR Canada, but his rookie season in 2024 ended at No. 120 on the points list — and with it, his status.
Rather than fade, he rebuilt. Lamb went back to PGA TOUR Americas in 2025, posted five top-five finishes, and earned his way back onto the Korn Ferry Tour. Eighteen months later, he’s on the PGA TOUR.

Asked about being ready for the next level, Lamb kept it simple: “The best way to learn is just to do it.”
That mindset — show up, put in the work, figure it out under pressure — is exactly what carried him through Sunday.
What This Means
For Davis, it’s the realization of a goal years in the making: full membership on the PGA TOUR, starting in 2027.
For Fidelity Sports Group, it’s the kind of moment that defines why we do this. We keep our roster intentionally small so we can be there for every step — the setbacks and the breakthroughs alike. We’ve watched Davis rebuild his game, his status, and his season with the kind of persistence that doesn’t show up in a box score. Watching him earn the final card, in the rain, with three birdies coming home, is about as good as it gets.
Congratulations, Davis. You earned every bit of this.
