Davis Lamb Dominates PGA TOUR Americas, #1 on Order of Merit
Davis Lamb, the 27-year-old golfer from Bethesda, Maryland, has solidified his status as the frontrunner on the PGA TOUR Americas in 2025, claiming the No. 1 position in the Fortinet Cup points list with a dominant performance throughout the season. His commanding victory at the weather-shortened Inter Rapidisimo Golf Championship in Bogotá, Colombia, set the stage for his rise to the top. The 36-hole event, where Lamb posted a bogey-free 15-under-par total with rounds of 11-under 61 and 68, earned him 500 points and conditional Korn Ferry Tour membership for 2026. Since then, Lamb’s consistency has propelled him past John Marshall Butler to lead the Fortinet Cup standings as the North America Swing begins.
Lamb’s standout performance in Bogotá highlighted his precision and composure, with three eagles and six birdies in his opening round of 61 securing a one-stroke victory over Abel Gallegos. Though considered unofficial due to the tournament’s shortened format, the win vaulted him from No. 24 to No. 2 in the points standings, and subsequent strong play has cemented his position at the top. His earlier top-10 finish at the Diners Club Peru Open (9th) showcased his adaptability across diverse courses, further bolstering his campaign for exempt Korn Ferry Tour membership in 2026.

This summer, Lamb continued his impressive form during the opening events of the North America Swing in Canada, starting with the Explore NB Open in Fredericton, New Brunswick (July 3-6). Competing on the challenging Mactaquac Golf Course, Lamb delivered a series of steady rounds, finishing in the top five and adding crucial points to his Fortinet Cup tally. His ability to navigate the tight fairways and demanding greens of the Canadian venues, combined with his experience from winning back-to-back titles on PGA TOUR Canada in 2023 (ATB Classic and Bromont Open), underscored his comfort and confidence in the region. Lamb’s performance in Canada this summer has kept him ahead of the pack, reinforcing his status as the player to beat.
A University of Notre Dame alumnus who turned professional in 2021, Lamb’s experience on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024, where he made 25 starts with a best finish of T11 at the Astara Chile Classic, has sharpened his competitive edge. The 2025 PGA TOUR Americas season, comprising 16 tournaments across Latin America, Canada, and the United States, offers a clear path to the Korn Ferry Tour for the top 10 Fortinet Cup finishers. With Lamb leading the points race, his exempt membership for the North America Swing and potential for early Korn Ferry Tour status in 2025 are well within reach.

As the North America Swing continues, Lamb is set to compete in upcoming events like the Québec Open, facing a strong field of PGA TOUR University graduates and Q-School qualifiers. His bogey-free brilliance in Bogotá and consistent play in Canada have positioned him as the favorite to secure a top-10 Fortinet Cup finish. “I’m just trying to keep the momentum going,” Lamb said after his Explore NB Open performance. “Playing well in Canada feels familiar, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.” With the Fortinet Cup Championship in September looming, Davis Lamb’s blend of skill, experience, and determination makes him the standout star of the 2025 PGA TOUR Americas season, with his sights set on the Korn Ferry Tour and beyond.
