Fidelity Sports Group, Dick’s Sporting Goods Team Up To Donate Protective Suits to Healthcare Workers
Fidelity Sports Group and Dick’s Sporting Goods worked together to coordinate a donation of 200 Frogg Togg suits to healthcare workers in Huntsville, Alabama after learning the raingear was high enough quality to protect doctors and nurses in the fight against COVID-19.
A family member of FSG partner Drew Carr is an intensive care pulmonologist in Hunstville, Alabama. On the front lines fighting against COVID-19 in a community hit hard by the Coronavirus, the emergency room and intensive care unit teams at Huntsville’s Marshall Medical Centers were quickly running out of testing supplies and protective gear. In asking “how can we help” the response indicated that high quality, washable rain suits were starting to used by staff and that members of the local community had donated several hooded Frogg Togg rain suits which were proving to be highly effective–any style of such donation could help save lives.
Friends since their time together at Rollins College, Carr reached out to Steve Miller, SVP of Strategy at Dick’s Sporting Goods as DSG carries Frogg Togg product nationwide. In an unprecedented 10 hour turn around, Miller coordinated the donation approval for 200 rain suits to be delivered to Marshall Medical Centers. The suits were delivered immediately thereafter and are being used on a daily basis by the ER and ICU medical teams in the fight against COVID-19.
