Wade Binfield Finishes 3rd in 1st PGA Tour Canada Event of 2016

Wade Binfield had a successful rookie campaign on the 2015 PGA Tour Canada, a Tour that provides a platform for players to reach the Web.com and PGA Tours.  Over 12 events in 2015, Wade recorded three Top 25 finishes and one Top 10. This was good enough to finish Top 60 on the Money List and retain full status membership for the 2016 PGA Tour Canada.

Last week brought the first event of the 2016 season, The Freedom 55 Financial Open in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Wade wasted no time getting his sophomore season off to a fast start.  Rounds of 68-68-68-71 for a 13 under par total had Wade in contention wire-to-wire all week.  Tied for the lead multiple times throughout the week, Wade finished on Sunday in a tie for 3rd place.

At the end of the season, the Top 5 on the Order of Merit earn automatic Web.com Tour Membership for 2017, while those players 6th thru 10th advance to Final Stage of Web.com Q-School and 11th thru 20th advance to 2nd stage of Q-School.

This week, Wade is back in action on PGA Tour Canada at the Bayview Savings Place Island Open in Victoria, British Columbia Thursday thru Sunday. Live Scoring is available at http://www.pgatour.com/canada/en_us/leaderboard.html

Wade tees off on Thursday at 12:40PM (pst) and on Friday at 7:40AM (pst).

As a lead up to the event, Wade was picked as the #1 Favorite in the “Power Rankings” for the week featured on the PGA Tour Canada Website.
