Ryan Sullivan made the most of his opportunities at the inaugural Lecom Health Challenge in Clymer, New York. The former Web.com Tour member Monday qualified with a 6 under par 66 to earn one of the final spots in the Web.com Tour field.
A member of the Web.com Tour in 2013, 2014 and 2015 Sullivan had spent the first 6 months of 2016 primarily improving his swing, and rehabbing and injured shoulder that plagued him for the later part of the 2015 season and made that year’s Q-School process difficult.
After a first round of 1 over par 73, Sullivan remained patient knowing that he was playing well. A finish of birdie-eagle for a second round 65 on Friday ensured that he would make the cut and play the weekend. Weekend rounds of 67-69 vaulted Ryan up the leaderboard where he finished in a tie for 7th place, the best finish of his career on the Web.com Tour in 31 starts.
Pocketing $19,350, Sullivan will play this week’s Web.com Event at the Lincoln Land Charity in Springfield, Illinois thanks to his Top 25 finish at the Lecom Health Challenge.
