McCormick, South Carolina–Stewart Jolly posted the best finish of his early professional career this week at the SwingTought Tour’s Savannah Lakes Village event just outside McCormick, South Carolina.
Improving by a stroke each of the three rounds, Jolly recorded rounds of 68-67-66 for a 15-under par total of 201 for the week, just two shots behind eventual winner Ethan Tracy who fired a second round 10 under par 62. A bogey free 66 in Sunday’s final round propelled Jolly up the leader board, although he felt as though he left a few chances on the course. “I put on a clinic today. I even surprised myself with some of the shots I hit today. It was a lot of fun. I’ve been working hard on my game and putting. If the putter heats up a little more today it might have been in the 50s.” Jolly noted.
Jolly had a stand-out career while at LSU. A NCAA All-American, and First Team All-SEC member Jolly won multiple collegiate events as a leader on LSU’s team, and was the captain of the 2015 National Championship Team. Away from LSU, Jolly was the 2014 Northeast Amateur Champion and a member of the 2014 Palmer Cup.
Jolly’s next events include the SwingThought Tour at High Point Country Club this coming week May 2-7 and then the Monday Qualifier for the Web.com’s Rex Hospital Open in Raleigh, North Carolina.
